Naval shipbuilding and MRO
Naval refits and repairs fail on interference: many trades in small compartments, and test phases run one after another. We plan by zone, run integration in parallel at sub-unit level, and bring the navy and the equipment makers into the work as partners.
Fixed dates, crowded compartments, and an owner who must sign every test.
When to call us
You may recognize these.
- Every project in a refit programme is delivered late.
- Outfit installation stalls in crowded compartments.
- Harbour and sea acceptance trials are planned in series, with months still to go.
- The navy, the equipment makers and the yard work to different schedules.
What we do
The work, step by step
- 01
Zone-based TACT planning for refits
One team in one compartment at a time, planned in conversation with the foremen and supervisors who will do the work.
- 02
Parallel system integration
Mechanical completion, setting-to-work, harbour and sea trials closed sub-unit by sub-unit, with clean handovers between trades.
- 03
Countdown management with the navy
Test criteria broken down to small units and signed off jointly, with outstanding items tracked to zero day by day.
- 04
MRO business process
Onboard surveys and production preparation completed before the contract, so the work starts ready.
How we usually engage
Usually a project recovery on the programme that is late, then the MRO process for the ones that follow.
