Shipyard turnaround
A turnaround starts from the yard as it is: the same docks, the same cranes, the same people. We find where its capacity is being lost and build the structure that lets it deliver again, then stay until the yard can hold that structure on its own.
For yards that are late, losing money, or both.
When to call us
You may recognize these.
- Most projects are delivered late, and liquidated damages eat the margin.
- Plans look complete on paper, but nobody on the floor works to them.
- Management and the workforce have stopped trusting each other.
- More investment is proposed, but output does not change.
What we do
The work, step by step
- 01
Diagnosis of real capacity
An Ideal Reality inquiry: what the yard could deliver with what it already has, and exactly what stands in the way.
- 02
An emergency operating plan
One declared goal, a target-focused zone plan and daily routines that restore basic order on the floor within weeks.
- 03
Restructuring for flow
Organization, work sequence and responsibilities rearranged so that the right behavior becomes the easiest one.
- 04
Board and owner alignment
An agreement with the owners on how the new structure will be protected after its first success, when support is most at risk.
How we usually engage
Usually a yard diagnosis first, then a yard transformation of three to five years.
